Hartford Hospital Ranked No. 1 in Connecticut by U.S. News for Cardiology Care

The Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital has been named the number one cardiology center in Connecticut and the number one cardiology center in the Hartford metropolitan area by U.S. News & World Report. Hartford Hospital was also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a High Performing hospital in Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery, the highest distinction awarded for clinical excellence in specialty care.

The U.S. News & World Report Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery rankings are based on a variety of data categories, including patient outcomes, patient experience and public transparency. The rankings help patients and physicians make informed decisions about where to receive care for complex health needs and elective procedures.

The Heart & Vascular Institute received High Performing ratings at both Hartford Hospital and St. Vincent’s Medical Center. These cardiovascular procedures and conditions include:

  • Heart Bypass Surgery

These recognitions join a growing list of national accolades for Hartford HealthCare’s Heart & Vascular Institute. Earlier this year, Hartford Hospital again earned the Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ (STS) highest possible three-star ratings for adult cardiac surgery, placing the Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute among the nation’s top cardiac surgery programs and one of only a select group of healthcare systems nationwide to achieve perfect scores across all measured categories.

In addition, and for the first time this year, St. Vincent’s Medical Center earned a three-star STS rating in coronary bypass surgery, a major milestone. This achievement reflects the commitment of Hartford HealthCare to deliver the highest quality anywhere throughout Connecticut.

Hartford Hospital has been named again Best Regional Hospital by U.S News & World Report, earning recognition for high performance in 21 adult procedures and conditions, including cardiovascular specialty care, cancer surgery and orthopedic care. High-performing ratings were awarded in:
